The role
The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Boys is seeking an Arabic Learning Assistant to join the Early Childhood and Elementary team. The successful candidate will support Arabic language acquisition and literacy development for young learners through differentiated instruction in reading, writing, and speaking. The role involves close collaboration with Arabic teachers to reinforce classroom learning. Prior experience in early years or elementary Arabic language instruction is recommended.
Key responsibilities
- Build positive, respectful, and effective relationships with students and colleagues.
- Inspire students with a love of learning and promote a growth mindset and learner agency.
- Communicate high expectations for all students and encourage motivation and deep engagement in learning.
- Support students in taking ownership of their learning and teach specific problem-solving skills.
- Provide opportunities for independent work while offering guidance and celebrating learning from mistakes.
- Help students practise skills, provide feedback on progress, and encourage reflection on learning.
- Create a culture of higher-order thinking, problem solving, and inquiry.
- Celebrate student progress and successes.
- Liaise with the inclusion team on student progress and attainment where required.
- Work with a range of students in varying contexts in line with teachers’ lesson plans to ensure progress.
- Communicate with teachers about student well-being, progress, attainment, and behaviour.
- Support the creation of a safe, nurturing learning environment.
- Assist with the display of materials and student work to enhance learning and celebrate success.
- Support the preparation of lesson resources and maintenance of the learning environment.
- Prepare thoroughly for lessons, ensuring accurate subject knowledge and clear understanding of learning objectives.
- Articulate knowledge and skills clearly to enable student success.
- Use technology confidently and skilfully to support student learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any subject area.
- Relevant experience working in an Early Childhood or Elementary school setting.
- Native Arabic speaker; UAE National candidates will be prioritised.
- Strong Arabic and English language proficiency.
