Arabic Teacher (Sharjah Campus)
The role
Sharjah American International School seeks a qualified Arabic Teacher (Native Speaker) for its Sharjah Campus. The position reports to the Head of Arabic Department and the School Principal. The curriculum follows Ministry of Education standards integrated with international expectations.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Arabic language instruction that develops students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The role supports the UAE’s cultural heritage and contributes to National Agenda goals for Arabic language proficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver the MOE Arabic curriculum using innovative methods that address diverse learning styles.
- Prepare detailed weekly lesson plans aligned with SPEA requirements and the school’s academic framework.
- Integrate interactive tools and digital platforms, including MS Teams and educational applications, to enhance engagement.
- Differentiate instruction and materials to support Students of Determination and Gifted & Talented learners.
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments against National Agenda benchmarks such as IBT and MAP.
- Analyse assessment data to identify learning gaps and implement targeted intervention plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behaviour and academic progress.
- Lead or support school activities for UAE National Day, Flag Day and Arabic Language Day.
- Participate in school-based continuous professional development and SPEA training sessions.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student linguistic progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language or Islamic Studies (attested).
- Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent (highly preferred).
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in the UAE; knowledge of SPEA regulations is an advantage.
- Native Arabic speaker with excellent command of Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha).
- Good command of English for communication in an international school environment.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students’ appreciation of the Arabic language.
