Art Teacher Basic
The role
Art Teacher at Hamdan Bin Zayed School, C2 & C3 in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive arts programme across multiple grade levels, combining visual and performing arts instruction with a commitment to creativity, cultural awareness and inclusive teaching practices.
Key responsibilities
- Teach arts to students across various grade levels, ensuring lessons are well-planned, engaging and aligned with the curriculum.
- Provide instruction in arts theory and performing and visual arts techniques such as drawing, painting and sculpting.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged to participate, create and express themselves.
- Develop and implement hands-on projects, performances and exhibitions that inspire students to explore their artistic creativity.
- Guide students in the development of their artistic skills, providing constructive feedback to support individual progress.
- Provide individualised instruction that addresses each student’s unique strengths and areas for improvement.
- Incorporate global artistic traditions, cultural expressions and historical context into lessons to broaden students’ understanding and appreciation of the arts.
- Promote a diverse perspective on the arts, encouraging students to explore a variety of styles and traditions.
- Design and administer assessments that evaluate student progress in visual and performing arts.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, projects and performances.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate achievements and areas for improvement to students and parents.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, ensuring both struggling and advanced learners receive appropriate support.
- Implement strategies to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to integrate arts education into interdisciplinary projects.
- Participate in department meetings and contribute ideas to improve the overall arts programme.
- Assist with the planning, organisation and delivery of extracurricular activities such as art clubs, theatre productions and exhibitions.
- Encourage student participation in regional, national and international arts competitions and festivals.
