Teacher Requirements and Experience:
Essential:
Hold a bachelor’s degree relevant to the teaching Subject or equivalent
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge and sheer enthusiasm for the subject that you are ready to share with our students
Experience of teaching GCSE and A Level
A minimum of 3 years' experience, though new teachers who are aspiring to be outstanding will be considered
Able to teach consistently inspirational lessons and a track record of delivering outstanding results
A highly collaborative nature and strong communication skills
Evidence of commitment to recent professional development relevant to this role
Ideas that will help to further the high profile of the department within the school
ICT skills that reflect the impact of technology in today’s classrooms
A commitment to the extra-curricular programme
A commitment to the well-being and pastoral care of all students within their care
Innovative, creative and positive mindset
Desirable:
· Experience of working overseas or with international students
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Head of Sixth Form:
Assist in monitoring and assessing student progress with their ECAs, Work Experience, and overall Kings’ Diploma.
Super-curricular development and monitoring, as well as the specific monitoring and coaching of our MEAE, Oxbridge and Ivy League candidates in collaboration with the Head of Careers and MEAE lead.
Overall management of the Extended Project Qualification.
Support the Heads of Year in the development and enhancement of the Sixth Form curriculum, ensuring it meets the diverse needs and interests of students.
Assist in the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that promote students’ skills for life. This includes implementing wider and enriching opportunities for our BTEC students outside their curriculum time to focus on their contribution to our community.
Collaborating with subject leaders and teachers to ensure the delivery of a high quality and bespoke ‘skills’ curriculum.
Support the Heads of Year in the continued development of a comprehensive pastoral care system to support the well-being of Sixth Form students.
Analyse data related to student performance, attendance, and behaviour, assisting in designing pastoral interventions.
Support the Head of Sixth Form in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Support the Head of Sixth Form in interviewing prospective students from outside Kings’.
Support the Head of Sixth Form in interviewing Year 11 Kings’ students for places in Sixth Form.
Support the Head of Sixth Form in the administration of GCSE results and confirming subject choices.

Genuine passion for Sixth Form education.
Dedication to the personal and academic development of Sixth Form students.
Proven experience in a leadership role within a Sixth Form setting.
Strong understanding of the academic and pastoral needs of Sixth Form students.
Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and implement new ideas to enhance the sixth form experience.
A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
