Al Basma British School is a popular and over-subscribed, high-performing ENC school in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The seven-form entry school caters for more than 2000 students from FS1 to Year 13. A state-of-the-art Primary block for Years 3 to 6 opened in September 2020.

The role

Al Basma British School seeks a Chemistry Teacher with A Level experience to join its successful Secondary Science team. The position is full time on a two-year renewable contract commencing August 2026.

Requirements

  • An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Y7 to 13 Science Education with Chemistry specialism and QTS or equivalent, or
  • An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject together with an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE in Secondary Science with Chemistry specialism and QTS or equivalent, or
  • An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in any subject together with an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE in Secondary Science with QTS or equivalent and two years of experience teaching Secondary Chemistry.
  • Two supporting references, including from the most recent employer, and a police clearance certificate, ACRO or DBS no more than three months old.
  • Documents must be attested for the UAE prior to arrival.
