The role
O Castro British School seeks an enthusiastic and skilled Computer Science Teacher to join the team from the next academic year.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Computer Science, including programming, algorithms, data representation and systems architecture.
- Teach across KS3βKS5, preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations with boards such as AQA and OCR.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND or EAL.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress on a regular basis.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the integration of new technologies.
- Support extracurricular computing activities such as coding clubs or competitions.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- C1 or C2 level of English.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience teaching Computer Science in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the British curriculum and relevant exam boards.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java and HTML/CSS.
