The role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Part-Time Contemporary Dance Teacher to deliver high-quality contemporary dance classes across Cognita schools in Dubai. The successful candidate will inspire students through creative and engaging lessons that develop technical skills, confidence, coordination, creativity and self-expression. This part-time position forms part of the wider Performing Arts programme within Enrich ME.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging contemporary dance lessons.
- Develop studentsβ technique, confidence, musicality, coordination, flexibility and stage presence through progressive, age-appropriate instruction.
- Encourage creative expression and improvisation, helping students develop their own artistic voice.
- Prepare students for performances, showcases and school events where appropriate.
- Create a positive, inclusive and inspiring learning environment that promotes participation and enjoyment.
- Collaborate with Performing Arts colleagues and school staff as required.
- Ensure safety standards are followed, undertaking risk assessments where necessary.
- Maintain records of attendance, performance and progress, providing quality feedback to parents and key stakeholders where appropriate.
Requirements
- Recognised dance teaching qualification.
- Excellent contemporary dance teaching skills.
- Experience teaching contemporary dance to children in a school, academy or performing arts setting.
- Experience preparing students for performances and showcases.
- Experience working with primary-aged children.
- Ability to motivate, encourage and engage students.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging and progressive contemporary dance lessons.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- Contemporary dance teaching certifications or professional training.
- Degree or diploma in Dance, Performing Arts or a related discipline.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Full driving licence.
