The role

Newbury Park Primary School seeks an inspirational and committed Deputy Headteacher to join the Senior Leadership Team. This full-time, permanent position carries strategic responsibility for Behaviour, Culture, Safeguarding, Attendance and Pupil Experience. The salary is on the Leadership Scale L18–L23 Outer London, dependent on experience. The post commences in January 2027 or as agreed. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; the school is unable to provide visa sponsorship.

Working closely with the Headteacher and the existing leadership team, the Deputy Headteacher will contribute to whole-school improvement and ensure the highest standards across all aspects of school life.

Requirements

  • Experienced and successful primary school leader
  • Proven track record of improving outcomes and experiences for pupils
  • Successful experience of leading improvement in behaviour, safeguarding, attendance, pastoral care or wellbeing
  • Understanding of how a positive school culture enables children to thrive
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and develop colleagues
  • High expectations and a commitment to excellence
  • Capacity to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, families and external partners
  • Reflective, resilient and able to think strategically
  • Shares the school’s ambition for every child to achieve their full potential
