About the school

Wheelers Lane Technology College is an outstanding 11-16 school for boys in Kings Heath, Birmingham, with a strong commitment to the Arts. In 2026 provisional data, 73% of students achieved grade 4 including English and Maths, and 57% achieved grade 5 including English and Maths. Drama students performed exceptionally well, with 88% receiving a grade 4 or above (nationally 77%) and 65% receiving a grade 5 or above (nationally 63%).

The role

We are seeking a Drama Teacher with flair, fun and a sense of the fantastic. The successful candidate will teach drama across KS3-4, working closely with the Creative Arts faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Teach drama across KS3-4
• Establish extra-curricular drama activities
• Collaborate in stage productions and showcases
• Improve outcomes for all students
• Inspire, challenge and motivate students through excellent interpersonal skills

Requirements

• Passionate about improving outcomes for all students
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to speak fluent spoken English
• Enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service
