About the school
Kammer International Bilingual School is located in Hannover, Germany. Its KiTa educates the youngest students from Nursery (1 to 3 years old) and Kindergarten (3 to 6 years old) under the same roof as the primary and secondary school. The bilingual concept is based on the principles of immersion, following the One Person, One Language method, with each group room staffed by one English-speaking educator, one German-speaking educator and a third educator whose language is determined by native level.
The role
We are seeking a flexible, innovative, creative and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to work with the bright and enquiring young minds in our KiTa. Schemes of work combine the objectives of the German curriculum for Lower Saxony with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from the UK. The position is initially offered on a two-year contract with the possibility of extension to a permanent contract. The start date is as soon as possible.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Early Years Education, or a Bachelor’s degree with Primary Education and a specialisation in Early Years Education
- Fluent in English (native or minimum C1 certified)
- Outstanding classroom practice in planning and delivering interactive lessons appropriate to the age groups
- Dedicated to motivating children in all areas of their development
- Able to monitor, assess, record and report effectively on children’s development
- Works well both independently and within teaching teams
- Secure IT skills, including knowledge of iPad technology
- Good interpersonal skills, a caring personality and a passion for working with children
Experience of teaching bilingual or trilingual learners is advantageous but not essential. Knowledge of German is not required, although a willingness to learn the basics is important.
