The role
The Royal School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative English and Drama teacher to join its English department. The successful candidate will teach pupils aged 11 to 16 across a range of abilities and will be expected to deliver GCSE Drama. The post also involves contributing to the school’s large-scale production enrichment activity and supporting the development of a love of reading from Reception to Year 13. The department benefits from a newly refurbished suite of rooms and a well-equipped theatre, and teaches GCSE from Year 9 to allow pupils time to master the specification fully.
Key responsibilities
- Teach English and Drama to pupils aged 11 to 16 across a range of abilities.
- Deliver GCSE Drama with flair and passion.
- Contribute to the leadership of the school’s large-scale production enrichment activity.
- Support the development of reading across the school from Reception to Year 13.
- Participate in the wider enrichment programme according to personal interests and existing activities.
