About the school

Kammer International Bilingual School in Hannover operates a bilingual kindergarten alongside its primary and secondary school. The bilingual concept follows immersion principles using the One Person, One Language method. Each group room includes at least one English-speaking and one German-speaking educator at native-speaker level.

The role

We are seeking a flexible, innovative, creative and enthusiastic educator for our nursery (1–3 years) and kindergarten (3–6 years). Educational plans are based on the joint goals of the Lower Saxony curriculum and the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The position begins on 1 August 2026 and is initially offered as a two-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension to a permanent role.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver interactive educational activities tailored to the developmental stages of children aged 1–6.
• Motivate and support children across all areas of their development.
• Observe, assess and document children’s progress and prepare reports.
• Collaborate effectively both independently and as part of a teaching team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, state-recognised qualification as an educator, or equivalent qualification permitting work with children under six.
• Fluent German (native speaker or minimum C1 certificate).
• Basic English skills (A1 accepted with willingness to develop further).
• Strong pedagogical skills for planning and delivering age-appropriate, interactive learning experiences.
• Ability to observe, assess, document and report on children’s development.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Secure IT skills, including confident use of iPad technology.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a caring personality and a genuine passion for working with young children.
