About the school
Berlin Metropolitan School is the largest international school in Berlin, currently educating 1,000 students with a team of 200 teachers and educators. The school delivers an international curriculum aligned with local requirements, serving children from age three in the Early Learning Center through to grade 12 in the Secondary School. The Co-Curricula Educational Program (CCEP) provides an extended educational and leisure programme each weekday from 15:00 to 18:00, complementing the academic day and supporting class teachers through the In-Class Assistant Program.
The role
We are seeking an engaged educator to join our CCEP team in the after-school care programme. The position offers the opportunity to work within a stimulating, international environment in central Berlin, supporting childrenβs holistic development through structured activities and projects.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development of each child into an independent, responsible individual who sees themselves as part of a community.
- Provide age-appropriate supervision that nurtures curiosity, creativity and physical activity.
- Teach social values and norms while developing motor skills, body awareness and cognitive abilities.
- Design and lead projects and activities for the after-school and holiday programmes.
Requirements
- Completed training as a state-recognised educator or a degree in social pedagogy, or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad.
- Ideally, experience in childcare settings and inclusion work, or a relevant educational background.
- Experience in programme planning and organisation is an advantage.
- Loving and respectful approach to children, strong teamwork skills, flexibility and commitment to quality assurance.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Fluent English and German, essential for our international school community.
