The role

We welcome applications for the Foundation Learning Support Tutor position to commence as soon as possible. The post involves providing pastoral and learning support to students with a wide range of learning difficulties, disabilities, emotional and behavioural issues, and other complex needs within the Foundation Learning Department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support for students with learning difficulties, disabilities, emotional and behavioural issues, and other complex needs.
• Support students’ additional needs, which may include personal care, toileting, mobility, and behaviour management.
• Support students during breaks and lunchtimes to help develop social skills and access college facilities.
• Contribute to the initial, baseline, and continuing assessment of students and their progress, including transition planning.
• Facilitate flexible support and learning opportunities in classes, at external venues, and through mainstream infill.

Requirements

• GCSEs in English and Mathematics at Grade A*–C (9–4) or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience of supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic ethos of the college.

• Hours: 29.6 hours per week, term time only. Starting and finishing times as agreed (8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday).
• Salary: Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Spine points 7 to 11 (£25,951 to £28,634 per annum, actual salary £18,154 to £20,030 per annum).
