Garden City British School (GCBS) is a popular British school of high repute in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. The role
Garden City British School seeks a Head of Department – Primary (Year 1 – Year 5) to join the team from 24 August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine commitment to creating an inspiring, child-centred learning environment and will be an exemplary practitioner with a deep understanding of personalised learning.
Requirements
- An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Education specialising in Primary Education, or
- An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in an English National Curriculum subject together with a PGCE or PGDE in Primary Education, or
- An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in an aspect of Primary Education with QTS
- Joint honours degrees that include theology, criminology or religious education are not accepted by ADEK
- Two supporting references and a police clearance certificate or DBS no more than three months old
Post-qualification teaching experience is not required. Candidates travelling without dependents will benefit most from the package offered.
