Al Rabeeh Academy is a progressive, innovative and rapidly growing British curriculum school in Abu Dhabi. The school opened in 2017 and forms part of a respected network with a reputation for high-quality education since 1979. The role
Al Rabeeh Academy seeks an experienced and passionate Head of Mathematics to join its dynamic team from August 2026. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE and A Level Mathematics. The post holder will lead, manage and develop the mathematics department, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching, learning and student outcomes while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics teaching in line with the British Curriculum up to GCSE and A Level.
- Model and promote strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and numeracy skills across the department.
- Drive curriculum planning, sequencing and development across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 to ensure coherence and progression.
- Lead, coach and support members of the mathematics department, promoting high standards of teaching and professional conduct.
- Use data effectively to evaluate performance, inform interventions and drive continuous departmental improvement.
- Support the academic and pastoral wellbeing of students while embedding the school’s values and high expectations.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, communicating clearly about curriculum intent and student progress.
- Contribute actively to school improvement initiatives and wider whole-school life.
Requirements
- Fluent English speaker.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject with PGCE/QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).
- Experience teaching the English National Curriculum, preferably in an international setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and commitment to student wellbeing.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
