The role

We are seeking to recruit a Head of Science to join GEMS Founders School – Dubai South in October 2026. The Science Department combines high-quality teaching with exceptional facilities, including state-of-the-art laboratories that enable authentic, hands-on investigation. The department offers Double and Triple Science pathways and integrates aerospace and space science across the curriculum, reinforced by links such as a visit from a NASA astronaut. The Secondary School is a rapidly growing phase distinguished by a commitment to excellence in academics, facilities and staff development, with weekly instructional coaching and comprehensive teacher CPD.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or equivalent, together with a recognised Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience as a Science teacher with successful leadership of a team or department.
• Experience teaching within a secondary school setting, preferably in the UAE, with a strong understanding of the National Curriculum for England and examination specifications.
• Experience delivering high-quality lessons across GCSE and A Level programmes.
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for Science.
• Confidence working collaboratively with senior leadership and other departments.
