About the school
Phorms School Frankfurt is a bilingual school with two locations in the Frankfurt metropolitan area. At the family-friendly Phorms Taunus Campus in Steinbach, surrounded by nature, approximately 700 children and young people are educated from nursery through secondary school using the immersion method. The campus is distinguished by its diverse and international community. The pedagogical team supports students in developing into independent, open-minded and globally minded young people. Phorms Frankfurt forms part of the Phorms Education SE network of bilingual schools and nurseries, which has been active in Germany since 2006.
The role
We are seeking a qualified Head of Secondary School for our Secondary School in Steinbach (Taunus) near Frankfurt. The position is available on a part-time or full-time basis. The successful candidate will provide educational, organisational and disciplinary leadership for the secondary school while reporting to the overall school management.
Key responsibilities
- Educational, organisational and disciplinary management of the secondary school, reporting to the overall school management
- Designing and ensuring educational quality across the secondary school
- Leadership, motivation and development of the German- and English-speaking secondary team, including active participation in personnel recruitment
- Analysis, evaluation and further development of teaching in line with current pedagogical findings
- Implementation and evaluation of data- and AI-supported learning assessments
- Close cooperation with the overall school management, the local management team, school committees, supervisory authorities and extracurricular partners
- Constructive and trusting cooperation with the works council in accordance with the Works Constitution Act
Requirements
- Empathetic personality with strong decision-making, motivational and team-orientation skills
- Qualification to teach at secondary schools or a comparable teaching qualification recognised by the Hessian school authority
- Expertise and experience in curriculum development and quality assurance in school development
- Experience in managing a secondary school or as a deputy head teacher
- In-depth knowledge of personnel management and school administration
- Understanding of the legal and organisational framework for alternative schools
- Team-oriented and motivating leadership style
- Openness to innovation and enjoyment of international cooperation
- Very good German (minimum C1) and fluent English skills, with enthusiasm for bilingual learning
