The role
Taaleem seeks a qualified and enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join Dubai Schools Al Khawaneej from August 2026. The successful candidate will embody the Taaleem ethos of excellence, innovation, creativity and compassion while delivering the distinctive curriculum that supports both academic achievement and personal development. Teachers are expected to inspire students through inspirational practice, deep understanding of individual learning needs and commitment to the Dubai Schools values of Future Ready, Trust and Empathy, Collaboration and Inclusion, Cultural Preservation, and Academic Excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Represent areas of knowledge, understanding and skills in all their richness to the students taught.
- Inculcate by precept and example the highest regard for truth, justice, equality of opportunity, human rights, benevolence and compassion.
- Engage and motivate students to achieve at levels beyond their expectations and previous limits.
- Use excellent subject knowledge, pedagogic skill and interpersonal ability to enthuse students and enable them to enjoy learning.
- Make full use of educational technology and blended learning practices to enhance teaching and learning for students of all ages and attainment levels.
- Plan lessons that take full account of students’ individual learning needs, styles, preferences and capabilities.
- Encourage and enable all students to become effective, confident and independent lifelong learners.
- Maintain excellent professional relationships with colleagues and contribute to the continuing improvement of the school.
- Plan and deliver a programme of learning opportunities and activities to enrich and enhance the taught curriculum.
- Cooperate with colleagues to establish and maintain fair and consistent disciplinary practices and take active measures to protect students from all forms of abuse.
- Communicate openly and professionally with parents about student attainment and progress.
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality and model good practice in academic honesty.
- Contribute actively to department discussions and plan after-school activities as required.
- Support the school’s partnership with the community, including attendance at occasional evening or weekend events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or a valid certified professional teaching qualification and license.
- At least two years of teaching experience in an international school.
- Experience teaching the US Curriculum is desirable.
- Experience working with English Language Learners is advantageous.
