Humanities Teacher (Global Politics, History & Psychology)
The role
Raha International School, Gardens Campus seeks a Humanities Teacher specialising in Global Politics, History and Psychology. Key responsibilities
- Represent areas of knowledge, understanding and skills in Global Politics, History and Psychology in all their richness to students.
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that take full account of students’ individual learning needs, styles and capabilities.
- Use excellent subject knowledge, pedagogy and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students to achieve beyond their previous limits.
- Integrate ICT and new technologies to enhance teaching and learning across all ages and attainment levels.
- Assess, record and report on student development, progress and attainment, providing regular feedback to support next steps in learning.
- Contribute to curriculum development, including the embedding of UAE heritage and culture.
- Plan and deliver enrichment activities and after-school programmes as required.
- Maintain fair and consistent disciplinary practices and safeguard students from all forms of abuse.
- Communicate professionally and openly with parents regarding student attainment and progress while upholding confidentiality.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching practice and make a wider professional contribution to the school.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant subject together with a recognised teaching qualification or licence.
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a recognised school or international school environment.
- Outstanding classroom practitioner with proven success in teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level.
- Experience working with DSIB, OFSTED or similar inspection frameworks.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct in line with Taaleem expectations.
