The role
We are seeking a Humanities Teacher specialising in Politics, History and Psychology to join our team at the Raha Gardens Campus. The successful candidate will embody the Taaleem ethos of excellence and inspire students through inspirational teaching that meets individual learning needs and fosters a lifelong love of learning.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons in Politics, History and Psychology that stretch and challenge students of all abilities.
- Plan and prepare schemes of work that take full account of students’ individual learning needs and styles.
- Use excellent subject knowledge and a range of pedagogic approaches, including ICT, to promote active learning and intellectual curiosity.
- Assess, record and report on student progress, providing regular feedback to support next steps in learning.
- Contribute to curriculum development, including the embedding of UAE heritage and culture.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and safeguarding in the classroom and around the school.
- Communicate professionally and confidentially with parents regarding student attainment and wellbeing.
- Participate in departmental meetings, after-school activities and wider school events.
- Engage in continuing professional development and contribute to whole-school improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant subject, together with a recognised teaching qualification or licence.
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a recognised school, preferably an international setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Politics, History and Psychology.
- Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with English as an additional language or special educational needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- High standards of personal and professional conduct in line with Taaleem expectations.
