The role

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive Biology lessons to students, following the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
• Develop and implement creative and effective teaching strategies to inspire a love for Biology and foster critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment and ensure continuity in curriculum delivery.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree in a relevant subject area, plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE/PGDE/teaching licence or Level 5 equivalent specialism in Biology.
• IB or AP experience is preferred.
• Proven experience teaching High School Biology, preferably within an American or IB curriculum school.
• Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and hands-on Science education.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• A strong desire to continually improve practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences.
