ICT Teacher for Abu Dhabi Branch
The role
The ICT / Computing Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences in Information and Communication Technology and Computing. The post holder will inspire students to develop strong digital skills, computational thinking, and confidence in using technology safely and effectively.
The teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons that support students’ academic progress while promoting creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and responsible digital citizenship.
Key responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging ICT and Computing lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Teach students key areas including computer systems, programming, coding, digital literacy, software applications, online safety, and emerging technologies.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Use effective teaching strategies and educational technology to enhance student learning.
- Assess, monitor, and report on students’ progress and achievement.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support students’ development.
Curriculum Development
- Contribute to the planning, development, and review of the ICT/Computing curriculum.
- Ensure lessons promote creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Integrate relevant technology tools and digital resources into classroom learning.
- Keep up to date with developments in ICT, computing education, and digital learning practices.
Classroom Management and Student Support
- Establish a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Promote responsible, ethical, and safe use of technology.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies.
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Encourage students to participate in technology-related activities and projects.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessment, and progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school technology initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student progress when required.
- Follow all school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, Computing, Education, or a related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification or teaching licence preferred.
- Previous experience teaching ICT/Computing in a school environment.
- Good understanding of computing concepts, programming, and digital technologies.
- Experience with educational platforms, learning management systems, and classroom technology is desirable.
- Passion for teaching ICT and developing students’ digital skills.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
