KS5 Science Lead Teacher

The role

We seek a committed and enthusiastic professional to join our established science team at Bolingbroke Academy. Working within the Science team, this role will lead Key Stage 5 teaching and learning, ensuring excellent outcomes for learners of both A-Level and BTEC qualifications. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to drive standards across the wider teaching team, ensuring effective long-term planning, individual lesson preparation, and clear communication and accountability so that all students achieve. Experience of coordinating BTEC qualifications would be an advantage. The post reports to the Head of Science.

Requirements

• Be an outstanding teacher, able to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities across Key Stages 3-5
• Have a proven track record of success and raising pupil attainment in Science
• Have some experience of leading and coaching others
• Exude a passion for the subject which is evident in day-to-day classroom practice
• Demonstrate high levels of ambition and optimism regarding what the Academy and its pupils can achieve
• Have strong IT, administrative and organisational skills
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults

Benefits & package

• Contract: Permanent
• Salary: £41,328 - £53,606 (Ark Main Pay Scale AM1-AM6)
• Start date: Immediate or January 2027
