The role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Part-Time LAMDA Teacher to deliver high-quality Speech and Drama and Public Speaking lessons across our Cognita schools in Dubai. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate educator who can inspire students to become confident communicators, expressive performers, and effective public speakers. The successful candidate will prepare students for LAMDA examinations where appropriate, developing communication, presentation, performance, and critical thinking skills within a positive and supportive learning environment.
Kindly note that this is a part-time role, and as such, visa sponsorship and medical insurance are not provided.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging LAMDA Speech and Drama and Public Speaking lessons.
- Prepare students for LAMDA examinations, ensuring lessons align with the syllabus requirements.
- Develop students' communication, presentation, performance, and public speaking skills.
- Build confidence and self-expression through speech, drama, storytelling, and performance activities.
- Support students in developing creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
- Prepare students for performances, showcases, and school events where appropriate.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
- Collaborate with Performing Arts colleagues and school staff as required.
- Ensure safety standards are followed, undertaking risk assessments where necessary.
- Maintain records of attendance, performance, examination entries, and student progress, providing quality feedback to parents and key stakeholders where appropriate.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Speech and Drama, Performing Arts, Education, English, or a related subject.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong Speech and Drama and/or Public Speaking teaching skills.
- Experience teaching Speech and Drama and/or Public Speaking.
- Experience preparing students for LAMDA examinations.
- Experience working with children and young people in an educational or performing arts setting.
- Ability to motivate, encourage, and engage students of varying ages and abilities.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- LAMDA Teaching Qualification.
- Degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Theatre Studies, English, or a related field.
- Experience teaching within a school or enrichment programme.
- Experience preparing students for performances, showcases, and competitions.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Full driving licence.
