Sharjah English School is a small, inclusive, not-for-profit school occupying a spacious and attractive campus in close proximity to Dubai. The school is a well-established co-educational institution offering the National Curriculum to 1100 children from Foundation Stage through to A Level. The role

Sharjah English School seeks a passionate teacher to join its committed team for a maternity cover position in the Foundation Stage. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that inspire and engage FS students, ensuring they achieve their full potential. This maternity cover is required from October 2026 to May 2027. The role is suited to UK-trained teachers with recent experience in British curriculum schools and a strong understanding of the Foundation Stage.

Requirements

• Qualified teacher with a minimum of two years teaching experience
• B.Ed or BA degree in a core primary subject with PGCE
• Proficient ICT user with awareness of innovative thinking and practice in education
• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the English National Curriculum
• Strong personal presence and high-level interpersonal skills
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and practices
• Proven track record in fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere
• Passionate educator dedicated to the well-being, social and academic progress of each student
• Experience that will make a significant contribution to the wider life of the school
