About the school
British School Alzira/Xativa/Gandia is a family of British schools in the Valencia region of Spain offering a high quality British education to students of all nationalities. The three co-educational schools teach the British National Curriculum. British School Alzira is an independent school situated in a mountain location 40km south of Valencia, with easy access to the Mediterranean coast and Valencia city. British School Xativa is set in extensive grounds beneath the historic castle of Xativa. British School Gandia, located in the coastal resort of Gandia, provides education from Pre-Nursery through to Year 11 and will start KS5 in the upcoming academic year.
On-site facilities across the schools include libraries, tennis courts, swimming pools, ICT suites, ballet rooms, indoor PE areas, shaded outdoor play areas, science laboratories, well-equipped art departments and generously proportioned classrooms. Teachers work together across the three schools to provide a consistent learning experience.
The role
British School Alzira requires a KS4-KS5 Maths Teacher to start in September 2026. The school welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and recently qualified teachers. Applications from teaching couples are also warmly invited.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QCT) or equivalent, such as a B.Ed. or P.G.C.E.
- Experience of teaching KS4-KS5 Maths, including IGCSE and A Level
- Successful record of planning and delivering engaging learning activities
- Knowledge of the British Curriculum
- Enthusiasm and high expectations for all pupils
- English as a first language
- Applicants must have the right to work in Spain; most commonly this means already being resident in Spain or holding an EU passport, including Ireland
Two years of experience teaching within the British Curriculum is preferred.
