The role

Trinity School is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher/Mentor to join the Mathematics Department. This rewarding role involves working with identified students to close gaps in knowledge and skills, build confidence and improve progress, alongside teaching GCSE Maths to a small cohort of post-16 students who need to resit.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Maths team to identify and mentor targeted students
• Deliver small-group teaching
• Manage the online tutoring programme
• Support students both in and out of the classroom to help them achieve their very best

Requirements

• Confident using assessment data to identify and address gaps in students' mathematical knowledge and skills
• Able to motivate and encourage students, building their confidence and resilience as learners
• Able to work independently, managing workload and meeting deadlines without close supervision
• Confident, professional communicators, able to liaise with students, families and teachers
• Values driven, reflective, and aligned with Trinity's ethos and culture
• Hold GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade 4/C or above, together with a relevant higher level Maths qualification and a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning in mathematics
