Falcons Learning is a small setting in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire, with capacity for up to 40 students. The school currently supports 26 pupils in a unique and supportive environment where staff can make a real difference to young people.
The role
Falcons Learning seeks a Maths Teacher to join its team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will teach mathematics across key stages from KS1 to Level 2, delivering high-quality and engaging lessons to mixed-ability groups of secondary pupils. The salary for the position is ยฃ33,000 to ยฃ39,700.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver mathematics lessons in line with school policies and curriculum requirements.
- Teach and support up to 40 students per class, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and inform intervention or catch-up strategies.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and positive behaviour.
- Contribute to the development of schemes of work and curriculum planning.
- Liaise with colleagues, parents and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
- Participate in continuous professional development and relevant training.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Evidence of recent professional development related to teaching and learning.
- Successful teaching experience with secondary pupils, ideally from KS1 to Level 2.
- Experience planning and delivering lessons to mixed-ability groups, including differentiated instruction, intervention and catch-up programmes.
- Strong understanding of mathematics curriculum requirements across key stages.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
- Competence in using assessment data to personalise learning plans.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
- High expectations for all pupils and a commitment to their achievement.
- Positive, resilient and adaptable approach with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
