The role
Dubai British School Emirates Hills is recruiting an outstanding Media Studies Teacher to join the school from January 2027. The successful candidate will teach GCSE and A Level Media Studies, delivering analytical, creative and industry-aware lessons that develop students’ critical understanding of media texts, platforms and audiences. The role includes guiding students to produce high-quality practical coursework across film, audio, print and digital media.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver inspirational lessons that combine academic rigour with contemporary production skills.
- Develop students’ critical understanding of media texts, platforms and audiences.
- Guide students to produce high-quality practical coursework in film, audio, print and digital media.
- Contribute to the school’s Extra-Curricular Activities programme.
- Support the wellbeing of all students and make a broader contribution to school life.
Requirements
- High-quality degree in Media, Film, Communications or a related field (MOFA attested).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (MOFA attested).
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in the National Curriculum for England in the UK or UAE.
- GCSE and A Level teaching experience essential.
- Proven track record of strong examination results and the ability to teach consistently inspirational lessons.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and willingness to contribute to wider school life.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, international and multicultural environment.
- Successful completion of police and safeguarding background checks.
