About the school
Sir William Perkins’s School is a high-performing, academically selective, independent school for approximately 600 students aged 11 – 18 years. The Head is both a member of HMC and GSA. It is located on an attractive 12-acre site situated on the outskirts of Chertsey, a two-minute walk from the railway station and very near to the junction of the M3 and M25.
The role
Sir William Perkins’s School is seeking a proactive and analytical MIS and Data Manager to lead and develop the school’s Management Information System. Reporting to the Assistant Head of Digital Strategy and Projects, the successful candidate will manage student and staff data, ensuring it is secure, accurate, and used effectively. This is a central role within the School, supporting essential operations such as parents evening bookings, timetable imports, and data reporting.
An immediate priority will be leading the complete migration and transition to a new MIS platform, managing the project from initial data preparation through to staff training and rollout while maintaining daily school operations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage student and staff data, ensuring it is secure, accurate, and used effectively
- Support essential operations such as parents evening bookings, timetable imports, and data reporting

- Manage the project from initial data preparation through to staff training and rollout
- Maintain daily school operations during the transition
Requirements
- Previous experience managing large-scale database systems
- Experience leading end-to-end software implementations
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capability
- Thorough understanding of GDPR and statutory school compliance
- Knowledge of tools like SQL or Power BI would be advantageous
- Discreet, adaptable, and solution-focused approach
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across the school
- The School does not hold a sponsorship licence and is therefore unable to sponsor overseas applicants
Benefits & package
- Salary: £40-50k per annum, depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time, year-round contract
- Start date: as soon as possible
