The role

The school seeks a dedicated MYP English Literature and English Acquisition teacher who will also serve as Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo). The successful candidate will support the academic and personal development of students with additional needs while delivering engaging IB MYP English programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the identification, assessment, and provision for students with special educational needs.
• Develop individualised learning plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external specialists.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting SEND students.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Liaise with families, professionals, and agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
• Teach MYP English Literature.
• Teach MYP English Language Acquisition.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum of two years’ experience working in special educational needs coordination or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of SEN legislation, frameworks, and best practices within an international school context.
• Experience with IB DP accommodations for SEND learners.
• Ability to analyse data to inform teaching strategies tailored for SEND learners.
• Experience teaching English within the IB MYP curriculum.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, parents, students, and external partners.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and multicultural environment where every student can thrive.
• Empathy towards the challenges faced by students with additional needs and their families.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving with patience under pressure.
