About the school

GEMS World Academy–Dubai is a private, co-educational IB World School for PreK to Grade 12 students, established in 2008 as part of GEMS Education. Authorised to deliver the PYP, MYP, DP and CP programmes, the academy is also accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The role

The Science department has transformed student outcomes and succeeded in inspiring a love of learning through dedicated staff, exceptional subject knowledge and a forward-thinking approach to data and the curriculum. The department is highly regarded for the care and personal support offered to students. Requirements

• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in Biology
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Secondary Biology
• Strong track record in effective teaching and helping students succeed
• Alignment with the IB philosophy and commitment to the Learner Profile values
• Genuine passion for working in a non-selective and culturally diverse community
• Strong understanding of the IB MYP/DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
• Experience in teaching the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes is preferred, though outstanding teachers from any curriculum background are encouraged to apply
• Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential
• Availability from August 2026
