The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed PE specialist to join a collaborative and forward-thinking school community and make a meaningful contribution to the physical, personal, and holistic development of our students. At Royal High Bath, sport and physical activity play a central role in shaping confident, resilient and connected young women.
As a valued member of our PE Department, you will motivate and inspire all students to engage positively in physical activity. You will deliver well-prepared, inclusive lessons that support every learner, regardless of ability, and champion the value of sport across the whole school, fostering participation, teamwork, resilience and healthy living.
Key responsibilities
- Bring energy, expertise and a student-centred approach to both curricular and co-curricular sport
- Help shape the sporting experiences of girls who are eager to discover their strengths and achieve their potential
- Contribute to providing an excellent education for all pupils by teaching with expertise and enthusiasm
- Build strong pastoral relationships and support the wider co-curricular life of the school
- Nurture students’ physical literacy, competitive spirit and leadership skills through high-quality teaching and coaching
- Inspire participation in both curricular and co-curricular sport and support academic excellence in examination PE where appropriate
- Promote the school’s sporting profile within the wider community
Requirements
- Qualified PE teacher passionate about sport and committed to inclusive physical education
- Excited by the opportunities offered within an all-girls environment
- Enjoy working in a dynamic, nurturing setting and ready to inspire, lead and make a lasting difference to the lives of young people
- Strong knowledge, experience and expertise in one or more of the school’s major games: hockey, netball, and cricket (highly desirable)
- Confident and competent in coaching and managing school teams, including team selection, preparation and match-day leadership
- Willing to contribute fully to the delivery of the school’s competitive fixture programme, including regular weekday and weekend fixtures, tournaments and other sporting commitments
