Physical Education Teacher (m/f/d)

St. George’s School seeks a well-qualified teacher of Physical Education to work across our Primary and Secondary school, to start in August 2026.

The School

Having opened in September 2013, St. George’s School Munich has rapidly developed into a thriving community of over 800 pupils and 100 teachers. The school’s ethos of combining an enriching curriculum with family orientated care makes the school a warm and engaging place to work and learn.

In September 2017, the school embarked on an exciting phase of its development, as it moved to a new, purpose-built campus located in the city. These premises provide first-class educational facilities for all ages and subject areas.

The National Curriculum is taught throughout the school and we offer IGCSE qualifications to pupils in our Upper School. Students in the Sixth Form prepare the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

One of a group of three schools located across Germany, St. George’s offers the successful applicant an exciting range of opportunities for professional development and growth across the school group.

The Location

The school’s new campus is located in the area of Schwabing-Freimann, to the north of the city centre. The site enjoys good access to the U6 metro line, as well as the A9 motorway.

Germany’s third largest city, and the capital of the state of Bavaria, Munich is a dynamic and vibrant cultural centre, with a large and diverse international community. Situated on the northern edge of the Alps, Munich offers a high standard of living, as well as numerous opportunities for travel and outdoor pursuits.

Munich airport is located 30km from the school, with many daily flights to the UK, and high speed rail services connect Munich to a wide range of European destinations.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a qualified Physical Education Teacher to work within the P.E. Department across all age ranges.

The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher with experience of enabling pupils to achieve their potential. We are looking for the right balance between experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching that will inspire our pupils.

Our P.E. Department is growing rapidly, and all pupils engage in P.E. as part of the curriculum. A large proportion of pupils also engage in extra-curricular sports, which take place daily after school. All members of the PE Department contribute to the extra-curricular sports programme and support after school and weekend activities. A commitment to supporting and developing the extra-curricular sports programme is therefore essential.

Only applications made through the online portal will be considered.

We require additional information for your application, please upload the following documents to your schrole profile:

  • A copy of all your degree certificates and corresponding academic transcripts

  • A copy of your teaching qualification

All applicants should hold a valid teaching qualification. We consider a degree in education (e.g. B.Ed./M.Ed./Lehramt), or postgraduate teaching certificate (e.g. PGCE) as valid. English language teaching certificates (e.g. TEFL/IELTS/CELTA) are not sufficient.

Applications should be submitted by the closing date of Sunday, 12th of April. The school reserves the right to contact outstanding applicants in advance of this deadline.

St George’s is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will therefore be subject to enhanced background checks. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
