About the school

The British School Alzira/Xativa/Gandia is a family of three co-educational British schools in the Valencia region of Spain. The schools follow the British National Curriculum and provide a high-quality British education to students of all nationalities. British School Alzira is set in a mountain location 40 km south of Valencia. British School Xativa occupies extensive grounds beneath the historic castle of Xativa. British School Gandia is located in the coastal resort of Gandia and currently provides education from Pre-Nursery to Year 11, with KS5 beginning in the upcoming academic year.

The role

The British School Alzira requires a Physics (IGCSE) and KS3 Science teacher to start in September 2026. The successful candidate will join a supportive team delivering the British National Curriculum across the three schools. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and recently qualified teachers. Teaching couples are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (B.Ed. or PGCE)
• Experience of teaching Physics at IGCSE level and KS3 Science
• Successful record of planning and delivering engaging learning activities
• Strong knowledge of the British Curriculum
• English as a first language
• Enthusiasm and high expectations for all pupils
• Right to work in Spain (most commonly through residency or an EU passport, including Ireland)
