About the school
Runnymede College is a private non-denominational British school in Madrid offering a British education to boys and girls of all nationalities from the age of two to eighteen. The education offered follows the British National Curriculum.
Founded as a private school in September 1967, the primary school was inaugurated in 1987, and since 1990, the whole School has been located in La Moraleja, in the north of Madrid. The School is divided into Pre-Prep (Pre Nursery to Year 3), Prep (Years 4 to 8) and Senior School (Years 9 to 13).
Academic levels are high at Runnymede College. In June 2026, 85% of students achieved A*-B at A level. In addition, 72% of pupils gained 7-9 (A/A*) grades at IGCSE. In the graduating class of 2026, just over half of pupils will be attending UK universities, 89% of them to Russell Group institutions. The most popular destination was St Andrews, followed by UCL, LSE, Oxford, Edinburgh and Warwick. Most remaining students have chosen the US, with five starting at Ivy League universities. A number of students will be staying in Spain at elite institutions including ICADE, IE and ICAI, while others will continue their education in world-leading institutions in France and Ireland.

The school is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Pre-Prep School.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification of a Bachelor Degree from a British university or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Teaching Assistant
- Knowledge of the British National Curriculum
- Knowledge of teaching Phonics and Early Reading
- Knowledge of early Mathematics with a mastery approach
- Native level of spoken and written English
- Ability to work with individual children, groups or supporting the teacher within the classroom
- Ability to work effectively and seamlessly individually and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in an international school (desired but not essential)
- Confident in using technology effectively in teaching and learning
- Passionate about early childhood education and supporting young learners' development
- Committed to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Commitment to safeguarding
