The role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Art and Music Teacher to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will teach Art and Music in the Junior School, following the Cambridge International Curriculum, and contribute to the creative development of our students. Candidates with experience in choir leadership are strongly encouraged to apply, as preference will be given to those who can also contribute to the school’s choral programme.
Key responsibilities
- Teach Art and Music to primary-aged students following the Cambridge International Curriculum.
- Support or lead Junior School choir or music activities where applicable.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote creativity, artistic skill, and personal expression.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and exploration.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and ensure every child can reach their full potential.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan cross-curricular projects and school-wide artistic or musical events.
- Encourage a love of learning through dynamic, supportive, and nurturing teaching.
- Support students’ social and emotional growth alongside their academic and creative development.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, school performances, and cultural events.
Requirements
- A current TIE holder or a passport holder from an EU country.
- Native English speaker or certified C2 level (CEFR).
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience in primary or junior education.
- Experience teaching art and/or music in English, with familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
- Ability to integrate technology into lessons to enhance student learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A creative, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
- Passion for visual arts and/or music, and for inspiring young learners.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school’s creative programmes.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
