About the school
Bricklehurst Manor School is a new specialist setting that caters for up to 60 pupils with SEMH and associated needs. The school is part of Acorn Education and Outcomes First Group, a leading UK provider of specialist education for children and young people with special educational needs.
The role
Bricklehurst Manor School is seeking an enthusiastic Primary SEN Teacher or Instructor to join its dedicated team. The successful candidate will plan and deliver creative, personalised learning that supports pupils with Special Educational Needs, Autism and associated needs. This permanent, term-time-only position begins in October 2026 and is based at the school in Stonegate, TN5 7EL. Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm with one late finish at 5:00pm. The salary is up to £43,000 per annum depending on experience.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative and personalised lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN and ASC.
- Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom where every pupil feels safe, valued and motivated to learn.
- Support pupils’ academic, emotional, social and personal development, helping them build confidence and independence.
- Adapt teaching approaches and learning activities to maximise engagement, progress and achievement.
- Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, using assessment to inform future learning.
- Work collaboratively with therapists, teaching assistants, families and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Promote positive behaviour through therapeutic, relationship-based approaches that encourage self-regulation and resilience.
- Contribute to the wider school community, curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
Requirements
- QTS is required for the Teacher role; relevant qualifications are required for the Instructor role.
- A genuine passion for working with pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
- A creative, reflective and adaptable teaching style.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
