The role
ICS Astana seeks a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join the team for the academic year 2026/2027. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons based on the US curriculum while ensuring compliance with Kazakhstan education regulations. The teacher will foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of students. Safeguarding and student welfare are top priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the American curriculum and school guidelines.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Collect, assess, monitor, and report on student progress using school assessment systems and analyze performance data to improve outcomes.
- Integrate educational technology and digital platforms responsibly to enhance student engagement.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies and promote independence, self-control, and positive attitudes in students.
- Support and promote students’ social, emotional, and academic development along with their wellbeing and resilience.
- Build strong partnerships with parents through proactive communication and student conferences.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership to plan lessons and support student development.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, professional development, and school improvement initiatives.
- Comply fully with all safeguarding, child protection, and student welfare policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education or a relevant subject; PGCE or QTS preferred.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools.
- Strong understanding of the Primary curriculum framework, particularly the American curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Passion for student-centered learning and innovation.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in English.
