About the school
The Strothoff International School is a bilingual, international school that follows both the Hessian education plan and the international IB curriculum. On its family-friendly and modern campus in Dreieich near Frankfurt, the school provides around 400 children and young people with German-English language acquisition from nursery onwards using the immersion method. Within its international and diverse campus community, the pedagogical team in the nursery, primary school and secondary school supports students in becoming independent, open-minded and globally thinking young people. The Strothoff International School is part of the Phorms Education SE network of bilingual schools and nurseries.
The role
We are seeking a School Counsellor / Student Wellbeing Counsellor to work full-time or part-time across two Phorms locations: three days per week in Dreieich and two days per week in Frankfurt City. In this position, you will empower students to thrive academically, socially and personally.
Key responsibilities
- Provide individual counselling and support for students facing academic, personal or social challenges
- Organise and facilitate workshops and programmes for students, teachers and parents on topics including teamwork, conflict resolution, self-organisation, resilience and personal development
- Carry out prevention and intervention in cases of conflict, bullying and crisis situations
- Participate in and help shape field trips, class trips and projects to strengthen the sense of community
- Collaborate closely with teachers, school leadership and parents in supporting students with special needs
- Work with external partners and counselling centres
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive school culture through safeguarding initiatives, prevention work and collaboration with the wider school community
Requirements
- A completed degree in social work, social pedagogy or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in guidance counselling or social work with children, adolescents and parents, ideally in a school setting
- Working proficiency in both English and German
- High intercultural competencies and excellent communication skills
- An independent, solution-oriented and responsible approach to work
