Science Technician - Physics
The role
Berkhamsted School is seeking a motivated and well-organised Science Technician (Physics) to join its thriving Science Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in Physics and a practical, hands-on approach to play a key role in supporting the delivery of outstanding science teaching.
As a Science Technician (Physics), you will support teaching staff by preparing and maintaining practical resources and equipment for lessons. You will ensure that all apparatus is ready for use, carry out routine maintenance, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and inspiring learning environment for students.
Working hours: Full time, term-time plus two weeks. Interviews are currently scheduled to take place in the week beginning 24 August 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain practical resources and equipment for Physics lessons.
- Ensure all apparatus is ready for use and carry out routine maintenance.
- Support the delivery of outstanding science teaching in a safe and efficient environment.
Requirements
- Strong practical and organisational skills.
- Good communication and IT abilities.
- Proactive approach to work and the ability to manage workload calmly and efficiently.
- Sound understanding of safe working practices.
- Enthusiasm for Physics and a willingness to learn; experience in a technical or educational environment is an advantage.
