The role

Secondary Assistant Head: Director of Sixth Form
For January 2027, Sharjah English School seeks a passionate Secondary Assistant Head: Director of Sixth Form to join its team. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified, visionary and inspirational leader who embodies the academic excellence, inclusive ethos and future-focused ambition of the school. The post holder will provide strategic leadership for Post-16 provision.

Requirements

• UK-trained teacher with recent experience in British curriculum schools
• Strong understanding of the Assistant Head and Director of Sixth Form roles, with a proven track record in a British educational context
• Qualified teacher with a minimum of two years’ teaching experience
• B.Ed or BA degree
• Proficient ICT user with awareness of innovative thinking and practice in education
• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the English National Curriculum
• Strong personal presence and high-level interpersonal skills
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and practices
• Proven track record in fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere
• Passionate educator dedicated to the well-being, social and academic progress of each student
• Experience that will make a significant contribution to the wider life of the school
