The role
This is a permanent, full-time Secondary PE Teacher position commencing 31 August 2026. The successful candidate will teach Physical Education across a range of abilities, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that promote a positive attitude towards sport and physical activity.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons using a variety of teaching approaches to support, challenge and stretch all students.
- Assess student progress, use data to inform teaching, and contribute to reporting and monitoring of achievement.
- Act as a form tutor and participate in extra-curricular activities and school events.
- Uphold high standards of behaviour, promote student wellbeing and contribute actively to safeguarding.
Requirements
- Motivated and enthusiastic teacher with a passion for Physical Education and a commitment to student success.
- Strong organisational skills and a clear understanding of effective teaching, learning and assessment practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and commitment to continuous professional development.
- High expectations of all students with the capacity to engage and inspire them.
- Ideally able to deliver a range of sports or activities and contribute to extra-curricular programmes.
- Energy, initiative and genuine enthusiasm for working with young people.
