Spanish Language Teacher (Umm Al Quwain Campus)

The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Spanish Language Teacher to join the World Languages department at Sharjah American International School – Umm Al Quwain campus. The successful candidate will create a vibrant learning environment that fosters linguistic proficiency and cultural appreciation. The role involves teaching Spanish across multiple grade levels, ensuring students develop strong communication skills aligned with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging lesson plans for Spanish as a second language.
• Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through interactive activities.
• Introduce students to the diverse cultures, traditions, and history of Spanish-speaking countries.
• Assess student performance regularly and provide detailed progress reports to parents and school leadership.
• Contribute to school-wide events, such as International Day, to promote cultural awareness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language, Hispanic Studies, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE or a State Teaching License.
• Previous experience teaching Spanish in an international or American curriculum school is highly preferred.
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish with excellent English communication skills.
• Strong classroom management skills and a passion for student-centered learning.
