Yas American Academy opened in September 2016 and provides high-quality education to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Children are taught the Massachusetts Common Core Curriculum, tailored to be meaningful to students, alongside the local curriculum of Arabic, Islamic Studies and Social Studies. Facilities include a large astro-turf field, two swimming pools, a well-stocked library, a large multi-purpose sports hall, an auditorium and outdoor play areas. The role
Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Teacher - Art for Yas American Academy in Abu Dhabi to start in August 2026. This is an opportunity to join the Aldar family of schools and contribute to the development of one of Abu Dhabi’s leading school groups. The successful candidate will be closely aligned with the school’s core values and ethos and will demonstrate a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Work with parents to support the happiness and academic progress of all children.
- Organise classroom provision and learning resources to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the full ability range within the class.
- Motivate pupils through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
- Observe and assess children in line with school assessment procedures and use data to inform planning and intervention.
- Follow the school’s behaviour policy, manage classes effectively and maintain high expectations of pupil behaviour.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating the attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils.
- Contribute to curriculum action groups, school events, outings and activities.
- Run a weekly ECA each term.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student achievement and well-being.
