Teacher - Design Technology (Food Technology) - Bateen World Academy (AY26/27)

The role

Bateen World Academy seeks a Teacher of Design Technology (Food Technology) to join the school for the academic year 2026/27. The successful candidate will deliver outstanding teaching and learning in line with the school’s Teaching and Learning Policy, maintain high standards of behaviour and assessment, and contribute fully to the wider life of the school.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons that create a climate for outstanding learning, with clear objectives, targets and effective differentiation for students with SEN, EAL and G&T needs.
• Maintain pace, challenge and engagement through well-structured lessons and learning activities, making effective use of assessment for learning, performance data and ICT.
• Mark students’ work at least once every two weeks in accordance with the school’s Marking Policy, set clear targets for progress and maintain systematic records of attainment.
• Prepare students for internal and external assessments, invigilate examinations and provide informative reports to parents.
• Attend and support parent and student events as required.
• Contribute to departmental development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work, while keeping subject knowledge current through CPD.
• Lead or support one after-school activity each term as part of the school’s CAS programme.
• Act as an Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12 and 13 students.
• Undertake duties on the staff rota, provide cover for absent colleagues and carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Principal.
