The role

We are seeking an outstanding Music Teacher to join Yasmina British Academy in August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of raising standards, closing learning gaps and securing outstanding progress for all pupils. They will show leadership capacity at a range of levels and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental policies and practices that reflect the school’s vision and commitment to high standards of achievement and effective teaching and learning.
• Establish, monitor and evaluate short-, medium- and long-term plans for departmental development.
• Use data effectively to identify underachieving students and implement targeted action plans.
• Analyse and interpret school data to inform policies and contribute to the school self-evaluation process.
• Ensure appropriate schemes of work are in place, regularly reviewed and inclusive of provision for SEN, gifted and talented, and EAL students.
• Guarantee curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all students, including those of high ability and those with additional needs.
• Set high expectations for staff regarding achievement, teaching quality and behaviour.
• Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure the department contributes to the school’s CAS programme and after-school booster and revision sessions.
• Lead performance management in line with school policy and manage departmental resources and budgets efficiently.
• Create an effective and stimulating learning environment in accordance with school policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music or a related subject, together with a PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification.
• Minimum of three years’ teaching experience.
• Experience of delivering the UK curriculum.
• Commitment to an extensive enrichment programme.
• Passionate and caring approach to education.
