The role

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative teacher of Art and/or Design Technology to join the school on a one-year fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will teach Art and Design Technology at Key Stage 3, with a Key Stage 4 specialism in either Art, Design Technology or Photography. The post is suitable for Early Career Teachers and is offered on the Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale. The preferred start date is September 2026, although January 2027 will be considered for the right candidate. Full-time and part-time working patterns will both be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and creative lessons in Art and Design Technology at Key Stage 3.
• Teach a specialist subject at Key Stage 4 in Art, Design Technology or Photography.
• Work collaboratively across both curriculum areas while being line-managed within the specialist department.
• Contribute to curriculum enrichment opportunities and educational visits that extend learning beyond the classroom.
• Support the continued growth of student uptake at GCSE level.

• Ability to teach both Art and Design Technology at Key Stage 3 with a clear specialism at Key Stage 4.
• Commitment to high achievement, motivation and enabling every student to flourish.
• Willingness to engage in collaborative practice and continuous professional development.
