The role
Teach Hurst offers talented English graduates the opportunity to begin a career in teaching with a salaried position at Hurstpierpoint College. The programme provides immediate classroom experience while completing fully funded teacher training on site, leading to Qualified Teacher Status.
Key responsibilities
- Build classroom experience, knowledge and pedagogy through observation and class teaching on a reduced timetable in Year 1.
- Complete a fully funded, in-school PGCE course provided by Buckingham University in Year 2, with an increased teaching load and further responsibility.
- Progress onto the Early Career Teacher Framework upon completion of Year 2, continuing to receive mentorship and opportunities for leadership roles.
Requirements
- A degree in English and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Enthusiasm, resilience and commitment to supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
- Willingness to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
